Make a list of everything you need to pack.

To assist you pack your belongings, give Inside the Box or Get Organized a call, or start packing yourself several weeks to a month in advance if at all possible. Your relocation will go more quickly the more you pack!

Indicate on the boxes the room in your new home they belong in. When we divide up and down-stack boxes in the truck, the boxes with multiple color coding on them are the easiest to identify.

As you pack, group boxes together and place the heaviest boxes at the bottom and the lightest/most fragile boxes at the top of neat stacks of three to five (depending on size and weight). This approach saves a ton of time and already has the dolly stacks ready for your movers.

Place all hanging clothing in cartons, ideally wardrobe boxes.

Outdoor cushions, pillows, and bedding in a box or a bag.

Lights, big children’s toys, big vases, and other items that are just too big or crookedly shaped to fit into a box should be grouped together in each area to help you see what needs to be moved.

As long as the dressers, chest of drawers, and nightstands are not constructed of particle board, you can leave clothes items in them. By doing this, you can avoid packing and moving boxes. The drawers will be easily stretched closed so that they may be moved using a dolly.

    0

Before moving any furniture, make sure all the clutter and unpacked goods are removed. By doing this, our movers will be able to access these items more quickly during loading.

    0

Empty the washers and dryers of their clothing, and store all loose or breakable goods inside refrigerators.

    0

Place outside decorations and/or garage tools in big tubs or garbage cans, or just tie them together with straps.

    0

To make sure nothing is accidentally forgotten or left behind, try to clear out any closets, attics, and other hidden locations.
